The growing need to reduce consumption has led to the development of highly efficient air conditioners, without compromising robustness, reliability, and compactness.

CE, UL Listed certifications facilitate market access and avoid customs issues, while ensuring time and cost savings for subsequent approvals and increasing reliability.
The use of R513A refrigerant gas, the efficiency level, and the use of a smaller amount of refrigerant reduce resource consumption and CO₂ impact, making the Protherm conditioners “Green.”
Among HFO refrigerants, cosmotec has chosen R513A refrigerant for its air conditioners due to some distinctive features.
- It falls into A1 safety class as it is a non-flammable gas and therefore does not require special safety measures for installation on electrical cabinets and/or enclosures.
- It also offers excellent properties: significantly lower GWP value compared to R134 (R134a: GWP = 1430, R513a: GWP = 631), high energy efficiency, and environmental sustainability.
- It is non-ozone-depleting and is available in the medium-to-long term not only for production but also for maintenance.

Sequencing
Some critical applications require redundancy in the cooling system. To meet this essential need, two Protherm air conditioners can be connected to each other to manage:

Automatic rotation, to balance operating hours

Mutual support, in case one unit signals an alarm that prevents operation, or if the cabinet temperature exceeds the threshold of the supporting unit
Remote monitoring
The air conditioners can be connected to a Modbus monitoring system, allowing direct communication with the unit. This enables parameter logging, rapid detection of potential issues, and faster service intervention.

Cooling and heating
The board controls the compressor and fans to cool the cabinet and, optionally, an electric heater to prevent low temperatures inside the enclosure

The electronic board, installed in the internal compartment, provides adequate protection against external agents (dust, oil, etc.) present in the environment

The Protherm R513A units feature a new connection system that makes installation easier and faster, especially for units with UL certification. It consists of a power connector, a signal connector, and, where applicable, a connector for switching the voltage 460V to 400V.
