Just one month after the launch of the WLA Compact R513A (see the article), we are pleased to introduce the latest result of our ongoingw-environmental-impact refrigerants. This consists of three chiller models using R513A refrigerant, which now expand the WRA ErP range: WRA50, WRA65 and WRA90.
Process cooling mission
The WRA ErP R513A units are meticulously designed to cool industrial production processes, where operational continuity, performance, and energy efficiency make all the difference.
- 24/7 Reliability
They are equipped with components and protective features—including phase sequence monitoring, sensors, and an automatic hydraulic bypass—to ensure continuous operation. - Easier maintenance
For quick and safe access, the panels of the hydraulic and refrigeration compartments are removable, while in the electrical cabinet the power and low-voltage sections are separated into dedicated compartments. - Electronic thermostatic valveprecisely regulates the refrigerant circuit in any load condition. Subcooling and superheat control extends the operating range and helps preserve compressor reliability
- Non-ferrous circuit
The hydraulic circuit is made exclusively from materials such as stainless steel, polymers, and brass to reduce the risk of contamination and preserve the quality of the process fluid. It includes an AISI 316 stainless steel brazed plate evaporator, protected against freezing by a differential pressure switch and an antifreeze probe. The hydronic module for open-loop hydraulic circuits integrates a level sensor and an automatic adjustable hydraulic bypass valve.

Compliance with US regulations
The three new models use the R513A refrigerant (GWP = 631), a choice that makes them fully compliant with the AIM Act, the US regulation that imposes a GWP limit of 700. R513A belongs to safety class A1 according to standard ASHRAE 34: it is low toxicity and non-flammable. Therefore, it does not introduce risks and does not require additional safety measures for either the system or the location where it is installed.
UL configuration and power supply
The models are equipped with an electrical panel that complies with UL 508A standard, UL motors, AWG cables, and a Type 1 enclosure. The UL 508A standard defines the guidelines for the construction of electrical panels — from component selection to wiring methods — and only panels manufactured in full compliance with these requirements can be certified as compliant.
