The CNW air-to-water heat exchanger for electrical enclosures is the ideal solution for cooling electrical panels in processes where a centralized plant or a utility line (press, laser machine) can supply chilled water to the units. Alternatively, they can be connected to water cooling circuits fed by cosmotec chillers. This solution is particularly advantageous when multiple units are installed on the same system.
CNW air-to-water heat exchangers are tested in accordance with the EN 1397 standard and include eco-friendly fans compliant with Regulation 2024/1834. Thanks to the use of chilled water, they represent an alternative to air conditioners, considering the restrictions that the F-GAS 573/2024 regulation will impose on high-GWP refrigerants starting from 2027.
CE and UL Listed certifications facilitate market access, reduce customs barriers, and ensure time and cost savings while enhancing reliability.

Thanks to the extensive range of refrigeration capacities, the CNW air-water heat exchangers meet all power requirements, the widest on the market!
Internal and external installation
The Watherm air-water heat exchangers, thanks to the possibility of being installed externally or internally, are ideal for applications where there is a need to minimise electrical panel space.
External

Internal

Available in 3 versions
Control 0

Without any control system in applications where regulation is not required and the water continues to circulate through the heat exchanger regardless of the internal temperature.
Control 1

With internal temperature control via a mechanical thermostat, which manages the opening and closing of the solenoid valve.
Control 8

With an electronic controller, solenoid valve, and level indicator: enables internal temperature control and a wide range of additional functions designed to enhance reliability, ease of use, and overall efficiency for the user.
Suitable for all temperature conditions
CNW water-air heat exchangers can operate in an external temperature range between +1°C and +70°C, therefore also in extreme applications. The water temperature can reach up to +1°C without the use of glycol, offering great operational flexibility. The internal air temperature can vary in a range between +10°C and +55°C.

Watherm air-to-water heat exchangers can not only be used in all typical industrial Indoor applications, but are also suitable for operating in Outdoor applications (using water and glycol), ensuring maximum versatility and reliability.
Furthermore…
Various power supplies
The entire range offers several power supplies to meet all market demands: 24Vdc, 230Vac, 115Vac and 400/460Vac
Not just standard
Options and accessories make Cosmotec air/water exchangers flexible for any customer requirement, both in terms of cabinet type (colour, stainless steel) and hydraulic connections.
IP55, Type 12/4/4x
The exchangers are suitable for operating in all industrial environments, guaranteeing the correct degree of protection even in critical applications, in aggressive or Food & Beverage environments.
Efficient
For the version with an electronic board, the SEM/SEM2 functions limit the fan at low temperatures, reducing or eliminating energy consumption
The introduction of the Control8 version, with an electronic card, brings many advantages:

Displaying the status of the unit and any alarms
Presence of an alarm contact in the switch (NO/NC) and a remote contact/open door
Leakage control in case of excessive condensation or failure of the seals or rupture of the pipes in the hydraulic circuit
Continuous remote monitoring via RS485 serial port and Modbus RTU protocol
Elimination of hot spots with the possibility of reading the internal temperature at a specific point on the electrical panel via a remote probe
System redundancy option through sequencing function and communication between two exchangers (alternating operation or backup in case of threshold temperature exceedance or unit failure)

Ease of installation and use
Watherm exchangers offer solutions to speed up installation operations and make usage simpler.
- Two integrated mounting inserts to facilitate the positioning and installation of the units.
- The mechanical thermostat, when included, is located on the rear panel and can be accessed directly without removing any part of the enclosure or panel.
- Quick-connect connectors for both the unit's main power supply and, where applicable, for signal connections and voltage switching between 400 V and 460 V.
- Easy maintenance and component inspection can be carried out simply by removing the front panel, eliminating the need for additional clearance space on either side of the unit. `
- Compact dimensions and new drilling templates allow installation on electrical enclosures with widths of 11.81, 15.75, 19.69, 23.62, and 31.50 in.
- Drilling templates are compatible across CNW05/10/15 heat exchangers and Compact Protherm CNx04/07/10 air conditioners, making it easy to switch between the two solutions in applications that may require either option.
- Various hydraulic connection types available, including GAS F and NPT threading (if UL), or via hose port or mini-valve (available as an accessory).
- IN and OUT icons engraved directly on the surface to ensure clarity and prevent installation errors.
In the version with an electronic board, it is also possible to:
- Drain any residual water from the heat exchanger by forcing the valve open, facilitating disposal, maintenance, or transportation activities.
- View and modify parameters directly through the display.
- Change the parameterisation from °C to °F
- Activate the test mode function during unit start-up procedures to verify the correct operation of all components.
