Laser
Application
The precision and reliability of high-power industrial lasers are closely linked to the control of the operating temperatures of the resonator (laser source) and the optical components (lenses) used to focus the laser beam. The high-performance WRA LASER process chillers have been specifically designed for cooling laser systems and help achieve three key objectives: maintaining a precise wavelength, ensuring optimal laser beam focusing, and reducing thermal stress on components.
Laser overheating problems
Modern laser machines are subject to significant power fluctuations due to the variability of processing cycles. Therefore, without appropriate cooling, the thermal loads generated by the resonator’s power electronics can lead to a range of undesirable effects:
- Reduced machining accuracy due to beam focusing problems caused by overheating of the active medium
- Power fluctuations aiming instability
- Reduced life cycle of the laser unit due to rapid aging caused by overheating of key system components
- Lower overall optical conversion efficiency due to the increased wavelength of the beam
Precision and reliability
The WRA LASER process liquid chillers have been specifically designed and developed to meet the cooling requirements of industrial laser systems. All WRA LASER units are equipped with the LASERPACK ±0.5K control system, which integrates a hot gas bypass valve for cooling capacity regulation and an advanced microprocessor controller with an enhanced PI algorithm, ensuring a standard temperature stability of ±0.5K under variable load conditions.
- Two Independent Temperature Levels
The dual cooling-circuit version is equipped with a modulating three-way valve and a second pump dedicated to the optics hydraulic circuit. This option makes it possible to independently control the operating temperature of the laser source and the optics, helping to maintain beam alignment on the workpiece during the machining process. - LASERPACK ±0.1K Ultra-High Precision Version
This configuration includes high-precision temperature sensors and dedicated controller parameter settings, enabling the system to limit deviations from the target temperature to ±0.1K stability (under stable load conditions). - Corrosion Protection
The hydraulic circuit and the standard non-ferrous pump (stainless steel/polymers) are resistant to corrosion, preserve the purity of the process fluid, and protect the laser source and optical components from contamination-related issues. - Maximum Reliability
Every unit is individually factory-tested and undergoes comprehensive functional testing. The use of high-quality components ensures long-term reliability, eliminating downtime and minimizing production stoppages.
