The energy of the future
The European Union aims to achieve decarbonization and reduce dependence on fossil fuels by 2050, making green hydrogen a key element in this energy transition.
The EU strategy envisages an increase in the share of green hydrogen in the energy mix, rising from the current 2% to 13-14% by 2050; this will require the installation of 800 GW of electrolysers, powered mainly by renewable sources such as wind and solar.
Why did the EU opt for hydrogen?
Its ability to act as a powerful energy carrier makes it an essential solution for storing energy generated from intermittent renewable sources, such as wind and solar farms.
As well as being a zero-emission solution, hydrogen also has a very high energy density, greater than that of petrol and lithium-ion batteries, making it an eco-friendly substitute for the fossil fuels used in transport and power generation, as well as a hugely important raw material in the chemical industry.

Chillers and free cooling: cooling for electrolysers
cosmotec liquid chillers are an optimal solution for cooling the electrolyzer cell stack (PEM, Alkaline, and SOEC technologies) and for the purification stage (Deoxo & Drying Unit). They are designed to operate continuously and reliably 24/7 and are fully compliant with the highest energy-efficiency standards defined by the Ecodesign ErP Regulation.

Industrial air conditioners for electrical panels
