The fight against climate change and increasingly high and volatile energy costs now make the adoption of high-efficiency cooling systems essential. This does not only involve the most energy-intensive systems, such as air conditioners and chillers: ventilation also plays a strategic role today. This is confirmed by the European Ecodesign Directive, which, through the new Fan Regulation (EU) 2024/1834, raises the efficiency requirements for fans with input power ranging from 125 W to 500 kW.

This is where, KryosROOF roof-mounted ventilation units by Cosmotec stand out as an ideal solution, designed to deliver high performance with optimized energy consumption. The high-efficiency version is equipped with electronically commutated (EC) fans, a technology that ensures the lowest energy consumption, particularly when the fan operates at reduced speed. To take advantage of this feature, the active probe integrated into the turret directly activates the operation of the EC fan and modulates its speed based on the actual temperature detected, and therefore on the heat load to be dissipated. This results in improved and more uniform airflow, optimizing thermal stratification inside the electrical enclosure. In addition, the unit consumes only the power strictly required for cooling, providing clear energy and cost-saving benefits. The active-probe control system is integrated into the product and does not require the installation of an upstream thermostat or related wiring, allowing for very fast installation times.
All these benefits further enhance the features common to all KryosROOF models:
- quick installation thanks to electrical connectors, pre-installed gasket and fixing clips
- IP43 and IP54 configuration, protection rating tested and certified by an external body, which ensures the reliability and durability of the internal components of the electrical panel
- elevate airflows in compact dimensions, for applications with higher thermal load densities
