Industrial thermal management is the set of technologies that control the temperature of electrical panels, control cabinets, and production processes. When an electronic component exceeds its maximum operating temperature, it degrades rapidly and can cause failures or production stoppages. A correctly sized cooling system protects automation investments, ensures operational continuity, and reduces long-term maintenance costs.
The air conditioner actively cools an electrical panel even when the external temperature is higher than the internal one, which is essential in hot environments. The heat exchanger transfers heat from the inside to the outside via a fluid: it is more energy-efficient, but only works if the external temperature is lower than the internal one. The chiller cools a fluid that then circulates in production processes, ideal for applications such as lasers, machine tools, Food & Beverage, and plastics.
The choice depends on three main factors: the thermal load to be dissipated (sum of powers dispersed by the components), the maximum temperature of the installation environment, and the type of application (electrical panel, production process, outdoor or indoor). cosmotec is actively engaged in aligning its product range with the new EU F-Gas Regulation 2024/573. With the upcoming introduction of the latest WRA ErP models, the chiller ranges with capacities above 12 kW using R513A refrigerant for the WRA ErP series and R32 refrigerant for the WLA Precision series will be completed. Chillers and air conditioners below 12 kW using R513A are already available for all non-EU customers and for EU customers with applications where the use of flammable refrigerants poses safety concerns. In the coming months, the offering will be expanded with models using R1234yf refrigerant, intended for other EU customers. For up-to-date information on a specific model, please contact our technical team or your local sales representative.
